Overview
- CommA has partnered with the Communications Network to offer an online community foundation member community where you can connect, share ideas, ask questions, build partnerships, and more. Communications Network membership ($300/year) is required to join the online community. Watch a video about the benefits of the online member community.
- CommA no longer collects membership dues to help encourage you to join the Communications Network, a tremendous resource for communications professionals working in the foundation field. We partner with the Communications Network to provide an annual pre-conference for community foundation professionals and also collaborate on webinars and utilize their members community.
- CommA has 300+ members. If you would like to join CommA, simply email your name, organization, and title to Nicole Paquette. You can also send the name(s) of other people from your foundation who want to join. Note: You will only have access to the online member community by becoming a Communications Network member.
- CommA sends occasional emails updates to members, highlighting conference opportunities, webinars, and other related information.
- We offer free webinars tailored to community foundations communications professionals.
- We coordinate CommA meet ups at larger conference and sometimes host our own conferences (we will be hosting a conference in conjunction with the Council on Foundations and AdNet, ProNet, and CEONet in Denver in June 2023).
Who Can Join CommA
- Community foundation staff responsible for communications, either part or full-time.
- Consultants that have long-term contracts with community foundations and, in effect, serve as staff. Only consultants with such a relationship can join CommA and with the understanding that their participation ends when their contractual agreement with a community foundation ends.
- Members of other associations of foundations who work full-time with community foundations on communications issues.
- Council on Foundations staff with responsibilities relevant to CommA.
Membership limitations: CommA membership is not open to other kinds of public charities, including those with a national scope or those focused on a single issue area.
